The short version

No Roadlock account and no advertising SDK.
The camera records a local dashcam loop while you drive.
Cabin audio is optional. You can turn the microphone off.
Location is used on this phone to display speed and GPS coordinates on screen while recording. It is not uploaded.
Roadlock does not send clips, GPS tracks or sensor data to Bumblly.
Optional anonymous usage statistics (off until you allow them) help improve the app. They never include video, location or an identifier.

Camera and microphone

Roadlock uses the camera to record a local dashcam loop while you drive. It can record cabin audio with the video. You can turn the microphone off.

Video and audio are stored only in app private files. You may export clips (for example to Movies/Roadlock). Roadlock does not upload clips.

Location

If you allow location, Roadlock can display speed and GPS coordinates on screen while recording. Roadlock does not embed this display in exported video and does not create a GPS sidecar file. Location is processed on this phone and is not uploaded.

Motion

Accelerometer data stays on-device. Motion lock is an estimate, not crash detection.

Optional anonymous usage statistics

From version 1.1, Roadlock asks once, after a drive, whether you want to share anonymous usage statistics. They stay off until you choose Allow, and you can switch them off at any time in Settings (Share anonymous usage).

If you allow them, the app sends short events such as “recording started”, “clip saved”, “paywall viewed” or “purchase completed” to Bumblly’s own server (analytics.bumblly.com). Each event contains only the event name, app version, platform, operating-system version, language and region setting, and whether you use the free version, the trial or Lifetime Pro.

Events contain no video, no audio, no location, no speed, no file names, no advertising ID and no account or device identifier. The server only keeps aggregate daily counts; it does not build a profile of you and does not share the data with third parties. If you do not allow statistics, nothing is sent and waiting events are deleted.

What is not used

No advertising or tracking SDKs.
No third-party analytics SDK. Optional anonymous usage statistics are described above.
No Roadlock account.
No cloud video.

Purchases

If you buy Lifetime Pro, Apple or Google processes the payment. Roadlock does not receive payment-card details. There is no monthly or yearly plan on the paywall. The free 3-day Pro trial is tracked only on this phone and needs no account or payment details.

Deletion

You can delete clips in the app or uninstall Roadlock. That removes local clips stored by the app.

Roadlock is a phone dashcam, not a medical or insurance product. Insurers and courts decide what they accept.
