Privacy policy
Private by design.
Naptara turns two iPhones or iPads into a baby monitor. It has no advertising, no Naptara account and no continuous cloud recording. This policy explains exactly what the app processes and why.
Effective date: 9 August 2026 · Publisher: Tim Grootes, trading as Bumblly
The short version
- Live camera and microphone media is transmitted for monitoring and is not continuously stored by Naptara.
- Timeline events and settings stay on your device unless information must be shared with the paired device.
- Optional product analytics is off until an adult explicitly opts in.
- Naptara contains no advertising SDK, cross-app tracking or face recognition.
Data Naptara processes
| Data | Why it is used | Storage and sharing |
|---|---|---|
| Live video and audio | To let the Parent Monitor see and hear the Baby Station and use two-way talk. | Sent directly between paired devices when possible, or through an encrypted remote media session. Naptara does not continuously record or archive this media. |
| Pairing code, room and session media key | To connect the two devices for remote monitoring. | Processed temporarily by the Naptara pairing service for session continuity. Expired sessions are removed. Codes and keys are not included in product analytics. |
| Timeline events | To show possible crying, movement, connection and monitoring moments. | Event type, date and level are stored locally on the device, with a maximum of 500 events. Relevant event information may be sent to the paired device. No continuous media is attached. |
| Settings and selected role | To remember preferences and whether the device is used as Baby Station or Parent Monitor. | Stored locally on the device. |
| Purchase entitlement | To unlock and restore Naptara Pro. | Processed by Apple through StoreKit. Naptara receives entitlement status, not your payment-card details. |
| Diagnostics you choose to share | To help investigate a support issue. | Generated only on request and sent only through the share destination selected by you. |
Optional product analytics
Naptara asks an adult for permission before sending first-party product analytics. The choice can be changed under Privacy & safety. Declining does not reduce monitoring functionality.
If enabled, Naptara may report an allowlisted interaction such as app opened, pairing completed, paywall viewed, purchase started or purchase completed. A report can contain:
- app version and app language;
- device class (iPhone, iPad or other);
- the source flow, Pro status and selected plan where relevant.
The analytics payload does not contain a persistent device or installation identifier, name, email address, pairing code, IP address, audio, video or monitoring content. Accepted events are stored immediately as daily aggregate counts; event-level rows are not retained. Analytics is not used for advertising, profiling or cross-app tracking.
Permissions
- Camera: Baby Station video.
- Microphone: baby audio and two-way talk.
- Local network: finding and connecting devices on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Notifications: optional local monitoring alerts.
Permissions are requested when the related feature is selected and can be changed in iOS Settings.
Retention, deletion and security
You can clear the local timeline from inside Naptara. Removing the app removes its local app data. Optional analytics already included in a daily aggregate cannot be linked back to an installation and therefore cannot be individually extracted or deleted.
Remote media uses session-specific encrypted transport. The service is configured not to log pairing codes, media keys or media content. An IP address may be used transiently in server memory for security and rate limiting, but is not stored in the product-analytics aggregate.
Naptara is intended for use by adult caregivers. It is not a medical device and does not replace responsible adult supervision or certified medical equipment.
Service providers and international processing
Apple processes purchases and App Store services under Apple's own terms. Remote monitoring uses LiveKit-based real-time media infrastructure operated for Naptara. Depending on where you use the app, encrypted network traffic may be routed across countries in order to provide the connection.
Naptara does not sell personal data and does not share data with advertising networks.
