Naptara turns two iPhones or iPads into a baby monitor, with an optional Apple Watch companion. There is no Naptara account, no advertising and no continuous cloud recording.
Effective date: 8 September 2026 · Publisher: Tim Grootes, trading as Bumblly
The short version
- Live camera and microphone media is used for monitoring and is not continuously recorded by Naptara.
- Timeline events, morning recaps and settings are stored locally.
- Optional first-party analytics remains off until an adult explicitly opts in.
- No advertising SDK, cross-app tracking, face recognition or sale of personal data.
Data used to provide monitoring
| Data | Purpose | Storage and sharing |
|---|---|---|
| Live video and audio | Live viewing, listening and two-way talk. | Sent between paired devices, directly when possible or through an encrypted real-time media session. Naptara does not continuously archive it. |
| Pairing and session information | Connect Baby Station and Parent Monitor. | Processed temporarily for session continuity. Pairing codes and media keys are excluded from analytics. |
| Timeline events and morning recap | Show early stirring, possible crying, movement, quiet periods and connection events. | Event type, time and level are stored locally, without attached continuous media. Relevant status may be shared with the paired device. |
| Preferences and selected role | Remember how Naptara is configured. | Stored locally on the device. |
| Purchase entitlement | Unlock and restore Naptara Pro purchases and subscriptions. | Processed by Apple through StoreKit. Naptara receives entitlement status, not payment-card details. |
Optional product analytics
Naptara asks an adult before sending first-party analytics. The choice can be changed under Privacy & safety. Declining does not reduce monitoring functionality.
When enabled, allowlisted events may include app and feature use, pairing outcome, connection reliability, first live connection, reconnect outcome, Early Stir feedback, paywall source, purchase outcome, review-prompt eligibility, app version, operating-system version, device class, role, language, store or system country, and transport type.
A random installation identifier and a temporary session identifier are included to calculate unique-install counts, reliability funnels and repeated-failure rates. They are not advertising identifiers, are not linked to a name, email address or Naptara account, and are not used across other companies' apps or websites.
For App Store installs, optional analytics may also include Apple Ads campaign attribution, such as campaign, ad-group, keyword and ad identifiers, to understand which campaigns lead to app use.
Analytics never includes audio, video, snapshots, baby or caregiver names, pairing codes, session media keys, advertising identifiers or the contents of monitoring sessions. Accepted reports are converted to aggregate counters. The installation and session identifiers are converted to keyed hashes before they are saved for unique counts. The analytics store does not retain raw event rows or the original identifiers.

Retention, deletion and security
You can clear local timeline and monitoring history inside Naptara. Removing the app removes its local app data. Product analytics keeps aggregate counters and pseudonymous keys for unique-install and session counts. These keys can link usage within Naptara, but are not mapped to a name, email address or Naptara account. The analytics store keeps its most recent 180 daily summaries; this limit is applied as new reports arrive. For privacy questions or requests, contact privacy@bumblly.com.
Remote media uses session-specific encrypted transport. An IP address may be processed transiently for networking, security and rate limiting, but is not stored in Naptara's product-analytics aggregate.
Naptara is intended for adult caregivers. Early Stir is a beta convenience signal, not a safety or medical diagnosis. Always check your baby and maintain responsible adult supervision.
Service providers and international processing
Apple processes App Store purchases under Apple's terms. Remote monitoring uses LiveKit-based real-time media infrastructure operated for Naptara. Encrypted network traffic may be routed across countries to provide the connection. Naptara does not sell personal data or share it with advertising networks.
